WCB Seeks Comment on Caller ID Authentication Extensions and Progress

The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau seeks comment on its annual reevaluation of the STIR/SHAKEN implementation extensions granted for certain entities, specifically the small voice service provider extension and the extension for voice service providers that cannot obtain a Service Provider Code token.  The Bureau also seeks comment on its first triennial assessment of the efficacy of the STIR/SHAKEN call authentication framework in combating illegal robocalls.

Comments will be due 30 days after the Public Notice is published in the Federal Register, which has yet to occur, and reply comments will be due 50 days after the Public Notice is published in the Federal Register.
