The Wireline Competition Bureau has issued an Order waiving the Commission’s rules governing the enrollment freeze and notice requirements for the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program’s upcoming December 31, 2021 deadline, as a result of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.  The Bureau has announced that a 60-day transition window will commence on December 31, 2021, in which the EBB Program will cease and the Affordable Connectivity Program will begin.

During this time, EBB Program beneficiaries will continue to receive their current EBB Program benefit amounts.  EBB Program beneficiaries will only need to reverify their eligibility during this time if their enrollment relies upon a substantial loss of income after February 29, 2020 or participation in a service provider’s approved COVID-19 relief program.
