The FCC has issued an order reconsidering its March 2018 order that provided relief for certain carriers operating on Tribal lands from Connect America Fund (CAF) limits on eligible operating expenses (opex) recovery.  Relief was provided to carriers that had not yet deployed 10/1 Mbps broadband to 90 percent or more of Tribal land housing units in its study area based on Form 477 data.  The order, which granted a petition for reconsideration filed by Mescalero Apache Telecommunications, Inc., recognized discrepancies in Form 477 reported data and actual service data.  The order opens CAF opex relief to 18 additional carriers.
