The Department of Treasury has approved a total of $350 million from the Capital Projects Fund, a $10 billion state grant program funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, to increase broadband access to approximately 84,000 homes and businesses in four states: Kansas, Maine, Maryland, and Minnesota.  Each state’s plan requires all service providers to participate in the Federal Communications Commission’s Affordable Connectivity Program.  This follows an approval of funds in June to four other states (Louisans, New Hampshire, Virginia, and West Virginia) to connect over 200,000 homes and businesses.
