Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) have introduced legislation to increase funding for the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Broadband grant and loan programs. The bill (S.3408) has been referred to the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. No companion legislation has yet been introduced in the House of Representatives.
