President Donald Trump has announced his intent to nominate David Redl, Chief Counsel for Communications and Technology at the House Energy and Commerce Committee, to serve as the Administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). NTIA is the President’s principal adviser on telecommunications policy issues and oversees the federal government’s use of spectrum. If confirmed, Redl would succeed Lawrence Strickling, who had headed NTIA since he was appointed by President Obama in 2009.
