The FCC has released letters written by the North American Numbering Plan Administrator requesting that the Commission endorse the recommendations of its Local Number Portability Administration Working Group for determining which service provider is responsible for querying number portability databases involving to Extended Area Service (EAS) calls. The Commission was originally asked to endorse the working group’s recommendation more than 10 years ago but has yet to take action on this request.
