The Federal Communications Commission’s Wireline Competition Bureau and Office of Economics and Analytics have issued a Public Notice announcing the 2022 reasonable comparability benchmarks for the prices of fixed voice and broadband services.  The benchmark for basic residential voice service is $52.65, while the rates for broadband range from $65.37 (for 4 Mbps downstream, 1 Mbps upstream, and 500GB monthly usage allowance) to $134.65 (for 1000 Mbps downstream, 100 Mbps upstream, and unlimited usage).  Eligible telecommunications carriers (ETCs) are required to certify that they are meeting these benchmarks in their Form 481 submissions to be filed no later than July 1, 2022.
