The FCC has adopted a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking comment on reforms to the Rural Health Care Program rules to promote program efficiency and ensure appropriate funding for program participants.  The FCC has concluded that the dramatic increase in demand for telehealth services has increased the bandwidth needs of rural health care providers.  As a result, the Commission seeks comment on: (1) how it should determine support in the RHC’s Telecommunications Program; (2) ways to improve the accuracy of support provided in the Telecommunications Program; (3) a proposal to reform the FCC’s funding cap rules; and (4) a proposal to simplify invoicing for program participants.
