The FCC has adopted a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (FNPRM) in its proceeding concerning the Safe Connections Act and protection of domestic violence survivors.  The FNRPM seeks comment on how to assist domestic violence survivors in relation to car connection services, which have reportedly been used to stalk, harass, intimidate, and revictimize survivors.  The FNPRM seeks comment on solutions to protect survivors from misuse of car connections features, which include real-time location data and hands-free communication.  It also seeks comment on the types and the frequency of use of car connection services in the marketplace and what steps car service providers may take to protect survivors.
