The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking designed to measure Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system performance.  The FCC will seek public comment on the effectiveness of certain WEA performance metrics, the types of performance reporting the FCC should require, and reporting logistics.  WEA is used to warn the public about dangerous weather, missing children, and other situations via mobile devices.
