The FCC has proposed rules to support survivors of domestic violence seeking separate service lines from shared accounts that include their abusers, protect survivors’ privacy in making calls to hotlines, and assist survivors to utilize FCC affordability programs. The FCC is seeking comment on these proposed rules. The proposed rules further carry out provisions in the Safe Connections Act and is the latest action the Committee has taken in its initiative to support survivors, as launched in July 2022.
