The FCC’s Enforcement Bureau (EB) has ordered all U.S.-based voice service providers to immediately terminate or block illegal robocall traffic offering student loan assistance, including loan forgiveness, made by or on behalf of Urth Access, LLC (Urth Access), and related companies (referred to as the Student Loan Robocall Operation). A voice provider must immediately investigate and terminate a customer relationship or block all traffic from the Student Loan Robocall Operation. If any voice provider after investigation of the suspected illegal robocall traffic does not terminate a customer relationship or block the traffic, or concludes the identified traffic was not illegal, that provider is required to provide a written report to the EB. The EB strongly emphasizes that a provider that fails to comply with this order may be deemed to have knowingly and willfully engaged in transmitting unlawful robocalls.
