The Commission has released a Public Notice announcing that compliance is now required for the adopted rules concerning the filing of Phase I or Phase II requests by 911 authorities to originating service providers for delivery of 911 traffic in Internet Protocol (IP)-based formats (NG911), the filing of challenges concerning the validity of Phase I or Phase II requests, and the submission of mutual agreements between 911 authorities and OSPs.  The Commission has created three separate dockets for the above-referenced filings: PS Docket No. 25-143, PS Docket No. 25-144, and PS Docket No. 25, 145.

Of note, OSPs will be considered to have received notice of a Phase I or Phase II request when such request has been posted in the FCC’s Electronic Comment Filing System.  Nationwide commercial mobile wireless service providers must comply with a Phase I request within six months after receiving such request while non-nationwide CMRS providers have 12 months to comply with such requests.
