The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC or Commission) Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB or Bureau) seeks updated responses to the 2012 Contributions Reform Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (FNPRM). The FNPRM considered whether the FCC should exercise its authority to include the provision of “one-way” Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services in the contribution base revenues. The Bureau also seeks comment on whether providers of such services should be required to pay other fees applicable to interconnected VoIP services, such as regulatory fees. Comments are due July 13, 2020, while reply comments are due July 27, 2020.
