The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Enforcement Bureau has issued a $100,000 Notice of Apparent Liability (NAL) for Forfeiture against Simple Network, Inc. for apparently providing interstate telecommunications services without submitting the required registration form. Simple Network is a New Jersey limited liability corporation, which provides prepaid calling card services. The Enforcement Bureau requested information from Simple Network to determine whether the company was registered with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), but the company was unable to demonstrate that it had filed the required forms, and further FCC investigation showed that Simple Network was not registered with the FCC or USAC. This failure to register allowed the company to avoid payments required of all interstate telecommunications services providers, including the Universal Service Fund (USF).
