In an effort to reduce the number of unwanted calls people receive that were intended for someone who previously held their phone number, the FCC has announced that it is launching a Reassigned Numbers Database on November 1, 2021. Paid subscribers to the database will be able to determine whether a telephone number from the individual that they intend to reach has been reassigned.
Additionally, on November 1, at 2:00 p.m. EDT, the FCC is hosting a webinar to educate callers and caller agents about the database and explain how to register for and subscribe to the database.
