The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau has announced that the deadline for eligible facilities-based mobile providers to elect to receive transitional mobile high-cost support from the Uniendo a Puerto Rico Fund and the Connect U.S. Virgin Islands Fund is 6:00 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 22, 2023. The FCC has made this transitional support available to recipients of Stage 2 high-cost mobile support in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to strengthen 4G LTE and NG-5R networks. Eligible mobile providers will have a one-time opportunity to elect to receive transitional mobile support by this deadline. To receive support, eligible carriers must submit a letter signed by a company officer confirming that the respective carrier elects transitional mobile support and commits to satisfying the specific service obligations and requirements for transitional support recipients.
