The FCC has adopted a Fourth Report and Order, Declaratory Ruling and Fourth Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to continue improving its Broadband Data Collection efforts and improve the challenge process. The Fourth Report and Order codifies the challenge processing deadline, 90 days, and directs the Office of Economics and Analytics, in coordination with other FCC bureaus and offices, to conduct audits of submitted broadband data.
The Declaratory Ruling clarifies that service providers may subsequently submit information in a later BDC filing to demonstrate that service is available to a location or in an area previously removed through the challenge, verification, or audit processes. The Fourth Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeks comment on proposed changes to the availability data filing process.
