The Federal Communications Commission has issued an Order on Reconsideration rescinding the Commission’s 4.9 GHz state-by-state leasing rules, finding that the rules risked fragmenting the band. The FCC additionally adopted a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to explore options on how to best use the 4.9 GHz band for both public safety and non-public safety purposes.
