The FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) has announced that its FCC Form 477 data as of June 30, 2016 will be the basis for the competitive overlap challenge processes for Connect America Fund Broadband Loop Support (CAF-BLS) and the Alaska Plan. The Bureau recently released this Form 477 data as well as study area lists of competitors reporting broadband service (available here and here). The Bureau has indicated that the release of this information is intended to help CAF-BLS and Alaska Plan recipients plan their broadband network buildouts and does not itself initiate any challenge process, the details of which will be released at a later date.
