The FCC has requested comment on a joint petition filed by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) and the American Cable Association (ACA). The petition asks the Commission to clarify that section 76.1602 of its rules requiring cable operators annually to provide certain written information to their subscribers relating to rates and services can be met by sending an e-mail containing appropriate website links to subscribers for whom the cable operator has a confirmed email address. NTCA and ACA argue that requiring bulk mailings is inefficient, uneconomical and outdated. Comments are due on or before May 26, 2016 and reply comments are due June 10, 2016.
