The FCC’s Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB) has provided guidance on the Reassigned Numbers Database (Database) to improve its utility to subscribers. Callers can use the database to determine whether a telephone number may have been reassigned so they can avoid calling consumers who do not want to receive the calls. The FCC has granted the Reassigned Numbers Database Administrator’s (Administrator) request that the Commission clarify that subscribers’ unused queries will be added to the queries purchased with a new subscription. Specifically, effective February 5, 2025, if a subscriber buys a new subscription prior to the end of its current subscription, any unused queries will be added to the queries purchased with the new subscription.
