The Biden Administration has released a National Spectrum Strategy on modernizing U.S. spectrum policy and making the most efficient use of spectrum. The Strategy strives to expand access to advanced wireless broadband networks and technologies, boost U.S. industrial competitiveness, drive technological innovation, and maintain U.S. leadership in global markets for wireless equipment and services.
The Strategy is broken into four pillars with several corresponding strategic objectives: (1) a spectrum pipeline to ensure U.S. leadership in advanced and emerging technologies; (2) collaborative long-term planning to support the Nation’s evolving spectrum needs; (3) unprecedented spectrum innovation, access, and management through technology development; and (4) expanded spectrum expertise and elevated national awareness. The Strategy was developed by NTIA, in coordination with the FCC and with direction from President Biden.
