The Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee has approved an amendment to the PLAN for Broadband Act that would provide full funding for the FCC’s Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Reimbursement Program and additional funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program using revenues from a to-be-conducted AWS-3 spectrum auction. The PLAN for Broadband Act would require NTIA to develop a national strategy to close the digital divide. The PLAN for Broadband Act with the funding amendment will be considered by the full Senate.
