The National Institute of Standards and Technology has published a draft handbook, the “Product Development Cybersecurity Handbook,” which describes concepts that NIST believes are important to developing and deploying secure Internet of Things products in any sector or use case.  A few topics that the handbook covers include: (1) cybersecurity considerations for IoT hardware and software; (2) how IoT products components use internet infrastructure and other equipment to communicate; and (3) standards and guidance related to IoT product cybersecurity.  Comments on this handbook must be submitted by May 17, 2024, to iotsecurity@nist.gov.
