The Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence Act (TRACED Act) was signed into law on December 30, 2019.  Congress requires the FCC to issue an annual public notice to seek comment on private efforts to trace back the source of suspected unlawful robocalls.  The FCC must also release an annual report on: (1) the status of such traceback efforts; and (2) the participation of voice service providers in such efforts.  The Enforcement Bureau has requested voice service providers and the registered consortium, USTelecom’s Industry Traceback Group, to submit information regarding private-led efforts to trace back the origin of suspected unlawful robocalls necessary to complete the FCC’s annual report.  The reporting period for this request is from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023.  The deadline to submit information is May 1, 2024.
