The FCC has voted to begin a proceeding to inquire into ways broadband connectivity may improve maternal health by exploring the expansion of the FCC’s Mapping Broadband Health in America platform, which the FCC updated in June this year to include certain maternal health data. In this inquiry, the FCC seeks comment about what additional variables, data, and functionalities the Commission should incorporate on the platform and potential actions the FCC could take to help improve material health, reduce maternal mortality, and promote maternal health equity.
