NTIA has issued a second Notice of Funding Opportunity to award nearly $1 billion in funding through the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program. This funding will be available for high-speed infrastructure deployment, telehealth, distance learning, and use and adoption efforts on Tribal lands. NTIA has already awarded more than $1.78 billion, via 191 awards, through this program’s first NOFO. Applications for this second NOFO must be submitted no later than 11:59pm EST on January 23, 2024. NTIA anticipates that it will complete selection of applicants by April 22, 2024.
NTIA expects to award funding within the following ranges: (1) $1 million to $50 million for broadband internet infrastructure deployment projects proposed by a single applicant; and (2) $100,000 to $2.5 million for broadband internet adoption and use projects. NTIA expects to allocate no more than $100 million for standalone broadband use and adoption.
