The FCC has adopted a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that proposes to enhance cable and satellite programming pricing transparency.  Cable operators and direct broadcast satellite providers would be required to provide the “all-in” price for service in their promotional materials and on subscribers’ bills, allowing consumers to see any hidden or unexpected fees.  The NPRM also seeks comment on whether it should expand this proposed requirement to other types of multichannel video programming providers.
