On June 26, 2020, the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) granted a temporary, limited waiver of the new July 1, 2020 certification requirement for certain price cap and competitive eligible telecommunications carriers (ETCs)–specifically those receiving legacy support but are not subject to other annual reporting requirements of other high-cost support mechanisms. Because USAC’s E-file system did not yet have the capability to collection just certifications for these carriers using FCC Form 481, the Bureau postponed the certification filing deadline until USAC could completed modifying its online form. The Bureau indicates that USAC has now completed the changes to FCC Form 481 to incorporate the new filing requirement, and announces that such FCC Form 481 certifications are due by August 7, 2020.
