The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB or Bureau) has sought comment, in a Public Notice, on ways to improve the currently confusing FCC Form 470 drop-down menu. The Form 470 drop-down menu lists various categories of E-Rate eligible services that applicants may select from. Various stakeholders have expressed concerns that the drop-down menu options are confusing to applicants. Thus, the Bureau seeks comment on terms that may be included, in the drop-down menu, to better describe services that are currently E-Rate eligible. Any changes made to the Form 470 will be effective for the funding year 2021.
