The Federal Communications Commission’s Wireline Competition Bureau has released a Public Notice announcing the availability of unused Rural Health Care (RHC) Program funds from the 2018 funding year. These funds will be made available for the upcoming funding year as a result of the adoption of new rules in June 2018 that: (1) increased the annual RHC Program funding cap; (2) adjusted the annual funding cap for inflation; and (3) established a process to carry forward unused RHC Program funds to future funding years. The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) estimates that $83.22 million in unused funds from 2018 will be carried forward into the 2019 funding year.
