The FCC has adopted a Report and Order, which after 52 years, eliminates the need for cable television operators to file the Commission’s annual FCC Form 325. The major reason for this decision was that the Commission has made little use of these completed forms in recent years, and the time and effort spent by cable operators to properly complete them was considered a significant and unnecessary regulatory burden. According to the FCC, the Report and Order concludes the fourth rulemaking in the agency’s Media Modernization Initiative.
