The anticipated December 2017 soft launch of the National Lifeline Eligibility Verifier in six states (Colorado, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming) has been postponed to early 2018. USAC recently advised the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau  (Bureau) that the National Verifier’s systems have “unresolved potential vulnerabilities” to be addressed in order to comply with the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA).  Neither the Bureau nor USAC provides a more specific timeline for the National Verifier soft launch or addresses the delay’s impact on the system’s hard launch, which previously had been set for March 2018.
