FCC Releases New Carrier Size “Classifications”

The FCC has released a public notice establishing the new inflation-adjusted 2015 revenue thresholds used for classifying carrier categories for various accounting and reporting purposes. Specifically, the new thresholds distinguish Class A carriers from Class B carriers, and large Class A carriers from mid-sized carriers.  The revenue threshold between Class A carriers and Class B carriers was increased from $100 million to $155 million.  The revenue threshold between larger Class A carriers and mid-sized carriers has also increased, from $7 billion to $9.18 billion.
