USAC Board Members Sought

The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC or Commission) Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) is seeking nominations for 12 board member positions on the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) Board of Directors. The Bureau previously sought and received nominations for the six Board member positions that expired on December 31, 2013. Given that the Bureau received those nominations almost two years ago, it seeks any new nominations for those six Board member positions in order to refresh the record. It also seeks nominations for the six Board member positions that expired December 31, 2014. The Bureau is seeking nominations for the following positions:

  • Representative for incumbent local exchange carriers;
  • Representative for libraries that are eligible to receive discounts pursuant to section
    54.501 of the Commission’s rules;
  • Representative for state consumer advocates;
  • Representative for commercial mobile radio service (CMRS) providers;
  • Representative for cable operators;
  • Two Representatives for schools that are eligible to receive discounts pursuant to section
    54.501 of the Commission’s rules;
  • Representative for low-income consumers;
  • Representative for competitive local exchange carriers;
  • Representative for rural health care providers that are eligible to receive supported
    services pursuant to section 54.601;
  • Representative for incumbent local exchange carriers (non-Bell Operating Companies)
    with less than $40 million in annual revenues; and
  • Representative for interexchange carriers with annual operating revenues of $3 billion or
    less.

All nominations must be filed with the Office of the Secretary by August 17, 2015.
