The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), together with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) will hold a two-day workshop on establishing a “Model City” program for demonstrating, evaluating, and advancing spectrum sharing innovation. It will take place on April 15-16, 2015, in the FCC’s Commission Meeting Room, located at the FCC’s Headquarters, 445 12th Street, SW, Washington, DC 20554. The workshop continues the FCC and NTIA’s Model City efforts, which began with a July 2014 joint Public Notice that sought comment on establishing a public-private partnership to create an urban test city where spectrum sharing technology can be developed. Interested stakeholders from industry, government, and academia will participate in the two-day workshop. A final agenda and list of speakers will be released in the coming weeks. The workshop is open to the public, but seating will be limited. It will be shown live on the Internet at fcc.gov/live.
