The FCC has released a public notice announcing the pleading cycle for a spectrum deal between T-Mobile USA, Inc. and Verizon Wireless. The spectrum deal, which was announced in early January, involves Verizon Wireless selling all of its Lower 700 MHz A Block licenses to T-Mobile in exchange for various AWS-1 and PCS licenses and additional cash consideration. Verizon Wireless’ Lower 700 MHz A Block licenses cover approximately 150 million POPs, including 21 of the Top 30 US markets. T-Mobile, meanwhile, is parting with AWS-1 spectrum in 19 markets covering 34 million POPs, PCS spectrum in 8 markets covering 21 million POPs, and $2.365 billion. Petitions to deny are due Friday, February 28, 2014, oppositions to petitions to deny are due Monday, March 10, 2014 and replies to oppositions are due Monday, March 17, 2014.
