The Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB) has released a public notice seeking comment on potential congestion on AIS 1 and AIS 2, which are two shared, narrowband maritime Automatic Identification Systems (AIS).  The frequencies are used for vessels and shore stations for safety and navigation related communication.  Specifically, the Bureau is seeking comment on whether it should recommend to the FCC that it assign additional frequencies for ASM.

Comments are due July 18, and reply comments are due August 2.
