The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC or Commission) Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB or Bureau) has announced the process for eligible space station operators to make an Accelerated Relocation Election in the 3.7-4.2 GHz band (C-Band). The 3.7 to 4.2 GHz Report and Order (Report and Order) adopted rules allowing space station operators to complete the transition to the upper 200 MHz of the C-Band on an accelerated schedule. Instead of a relocation deadline of December 5, 2025, space station operators have the opportunity to complete transition, in a two-phased approach, with a Phase I deadline of December 5, 2021 and a Phase II deadline of December 5, 2023. Eligible space station operators have until May 29, 2020 to elect for the accelerated relocation schedule. In electing such status, space station operators must file Acceleration Relocation Election in GN Docket No. 18-122. These elections are public and irrevocable.
