The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Wireline Competition Bureau has released a Public Notice announcing the inflation-based caps for funding year 2019 for the E-Rate and Rural Health Care (RHC) programs. The 2019 funding year runs from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020 and both caps represent a 2.2% inflation-adjusted increase from funding year 2018.
The E-Rate program funding cap for 2019 is $4,151,395,402, while the RHC funding cap for 2019 is $593,782,000. The FCC began indexing the funding caps to inflation in 2010 so that program funding can keep pace with the changing broadband and telecommunications needs of schools, libraries, and rural healthcare providers.
