The Wireline Competition Bureau has extended the filing deadline for the Rip and Replace Reimbursement Program application, FCC Form 5640, by 14 days until January 28, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. EST in response to a Motion filed by the Rural Wireless Association and NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association to extend the filing deadline until February 14, 2022.
In arguing for their extension request, the associations cited the extensive labor hours dedicated to the application, limited workforce resources, the impact of the COVID-19 Omicron variant and the impending holidays. The Bureau agreed that an extension of the January 14 filing deadline was needed, but concluded that a 30-day extension may unduly delay the implementation of the Reimbursement Program.
The application filing window for the Rip and Replace Reimbursement Program will now close on January 28, 2022 at 11:59 PM ET.
