The FCC’s Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau has announced the pleading cycle for the petition for reconsideration of the FCC’s User Interfaces Order. The User Interfaces Order implements the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA), which requires that blind and visually impaired individuals have access to video programming on a range of video devices and individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing be able to activate closed captioning on video devices. Oppositions to the petition are due February 18, 2014. Replies to oppositions are due February 25, 2014.
