Comment deadlines have been announced for the petition filed by a group of consumer advocate organizations that seeks reconsideration of the FCC’s residential backup power rules. The consumer advocates want the FCC to reconsider its decision that communications providers are not required to provide backup power, and need only make backup power available at the customer’s option and expense. Oppositions to the petition must be filed with the FCC on or before December 31, 2015. Replies to oppositions are due January 11, 2016.
