The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC or Commission) Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) seeks comment on RADWIN Ltd.’s (Radwin) emergency request to waive the Commission rules to allow Radwin to operate Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (U-NII) devices, in the 5.15-5.25 GHz and 5.725-5.85 GHz bands, at power levels in excess of the Commission’s limitations for point-to-multipoint systems. Radwin seeks this waiver to allow its customers to provide better quality broadband service to their subscribers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Radwin argues that this waiver is especially critical for subscribers in remote and rural areas, who are increasingly dependent on telehealth. Comments are due May 15, 2020 and reply comments are due May 20, 2020.
