On September 30, 2014, the Federal Communications Commission adopted two Notices of Proposed Rulemaking in proceedings concerning Part 15 unlicensed operations and wireless microphones. Comments in each of these proceedings were due on January 5, 2015 and reply comments were due on January 26, 2015. Parties seeking deadline extensions stated that the Notices propose many substantial technical and operational rule changes that will require significant evaluation, testing and analysis, and that more time was required to analyze these issues and develop responses to the Commission’s inquiries. The FCC’s Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) has extended the deadlines by 30 days to February 4, 2015 and February 25, 2015, respectively.
