NITA has released its first NOFO for the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund, a $1.5 billion grant program that is tasked with spurring the development and deployment of open radio access networks. This first NOFO, making $140.5 million available in grants, is focused on projects that will expand testing and evaluation activities to facilitate interoperability of open RAN networks and research into developing open RAN security frameworks. Applications are due June 2 and first grants must be awarded by August 8.
