The FCC has adopted new rules requiring that all mobile handsets, such as smartphones, must be compatible with hearing aids.  The new rules also: (1) establish a Bluetooth coupling requirement; (2) require that all new mobile handsets available in the U.S. meet volume control benchmarks that ensure clear audio for the listener; and (3) revise labeling and website posting requirements to help consumers make informed handset purchasing decisions.
