FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has selected Lisa Fowlkes to serve as Chief of the Commission’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (Bureau), continuing her work as Acting Chief. The Bureau develops and administers FCC policies related to public safety communications, including 911 and E911 service, network security and reliability, and emergency preparedness and alerting. Prior to her role as Acting Bureau Chief, Fowlkes served as a Deputy Bureau Chief responsible for FCC policies concerning network reliability and emergency alerting. She has also served in senior positions throughout the agency, including in the Enforcement Bureau, Office of Communications Business Opportunities, and Office of General Counsel.
